MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s visit to Mumbai on Friday to inaugurate various projects has prompted the traffic police to issue an advisory for motorists.
Central Railway has organised an event at CSMT’s platform No. 18. So, between 2.45pm and 4.15pm, traffic movement will be regulated on Eastern Freeway, P D’Mello Road, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road and routes related to these roads. Traffic Police have suggested optional routes for motorists as follows:
1) Vehicles going from CSMT towards Chembur through Eastern Freeway shall proceed through DN Road to JJ flyover- Dadar- Matunga- Chembur using Eastern Express Highway.
2) Vehicles coming from Churchgate railway station towards Chembur through Eastern Freeway shall proceed through Veer Nariman Road towards CTO junction- Hazarimal Somani Marg- CSMT- JJ flyover- Dadar- Matunga- Chembur using Eastern Express Highway.
3) Vehicles from Cuffe Parade and Navy Nagar may use Nathalal Parekh Marg – Badhwar Park Junction- Bhosle Marg- Mantralaya- Godrej Junction- Ambedkar Junction- CTO Junction- Hazarimal Somani Marg- CSMT- JJ flyover- Dadar- Matunga- Chembur using Eastern Express Highway.
4) Vehicles from Vashi going towards CSMT, Colaba or Churchgate through Eastern Freeway may proceed through Mankhurd- Chembur- Chheda Naka- Suman Nagar Junction- Sion- Matunga – Dadar- Byculla (using Eastern Express Highway) – JJ flyover – CSMT Junction to their destination.
Another event has been organised at Marol. So, traffic will be regulated on Marol Church Road (and roads adjacent to it), Airport Road Metro station Junction, Andheri-Ghatkopar/ Kurla Road and Elevated Airport Road from Vile Parle East from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
Police have suggested optional routes for motorists:
1) Andheri-Ghatkopar/ Kurla Road: Vehicles proceeding through Andheri-Ghatkopar Road from Saki Naka Junction shall go straight via Saki Vihar Road through Milind Nagar, L&T Gate no. 8 by taking a left turn via JVLR to Western Express Highway.
2) Traffic from Bohra Colony to Andheri-Kurla Road via Marol Church will be diverted to Andheri-Kurla Road via Marol Pipeline from Kadam Wadi.
3) Traffic from Bohra Colony to Marol- Maroshi Road via Marol Church Road will take a left turn at Star Poultry Farm Marol Church Road and go straight through Marol Gaon Road under Marol Village and take a left turn near Savla General Road towards Marol Maroshi Road.
