THANE: The water supply in some areas of Thane city will remain suspended for 24 hours due to major repair work.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Thursday said that there will be no water supply in some areas from Friday (February 25) 9am to Saturday (February 26) 9am due to maintenance, repair and various other works undertaken through Stem Water Distribution and Infrastructure Company.
The civic body said that the water supply from TMC’s own scheme will be zoned and distributed in Thane city.
The areas which will be affected include – Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Hiranandani Estate, Brahmand, Vijayanagari, Gaimukh, Balkum, Kolshet, Azadnagar, Gandhinagar.
The civic body further said that water supply to Ritu Park, Jail, Saket, Rustamji, Samtanagar, Aakriti, Dosti, Johnson, Eternity, Kalwa and some parts of Mumbra will also remain shut from 9am on Friday to 9am on Saturday.
TMC has also appealed to the citizens to keep proper storage of water, saying that due to the shutdown, the water supply is likely to be maintained at low pressure for the next 1 to 2 days till the water supply is restored.
