KALYAN: A woman suffered head injuries after part of a building collapsed in Kalyan (West) on Saturday.
The injured woman was rushed to a private hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
The incident took place in the afternoon when the woman was passing from lane adjoining to Ramji Jiva Mansion building near Raja hotel when suddenly a part of the building collapsed.
The locals informed about the incident to the KDMC and then their staff rushed to the spot.
“The building is in the list of dangerous buildings and recently we had planed to demolished the same, but some residents have moved court and have got a stay order. We have decided to oppose the stay from the court,” said Sudhir Mokal, ward officer of KDMC.
The residents from adjoining areas have demanded KDMC to demolish the structure because it is dangerous and situated on the main road.
