KALYAN: The Khadakpada police in Kalyan arrested two dumper drivers for allegedly stealing two dumpers loaded with sand from state revenue department office in Thane’s Kalyan.
The police said the revenue department officials from Kalyan tehsildar office on November 10 had taken action against those transporting sand without valid permission from Vayle Nagar area in Kalyan and had seized two sand-laden dumpers.
The officials had kept the seized dumpers at SDO office in Kalyan from where both the dumpers drivers identified as Arjun Mahato and Suresh Mahato later fled with the vehicles.
Sharad Zine, police inspector of Khadakpada police station said, “After seized dumpers went missing, revenue department officials filed theft case with us and acting on their complaint we probed the matter and arrested both drivers on Saturday”.
