Amit Shah on Sunday denied that he had promised Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray that the chief-ministership would be kept rotational between the BJP and Shiv Sena after the 2019 assembly election.
Late on Sunday, the Shiv Sena had released a video clip of former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis at a press conference stating that if the two parties come back to power there would be equal sharing of posts and responsibilities.
Fadnavis further said in the video that in case of any confusion, the final decision would be taken by Shah and Uddhav Thackeray.
When TOI asked Fadnavis about the video clip, he said, “That is a video from a press conference. It’s about share in govt. Shah referred to the post of the chief minister. It was neither decided nor mentioned there. Thackeray himself has claimed that Fadnavis didn’t know and it was talk between him and Shah. Then how will I say that in the press? What Sena has claimed about the CM post is a blatant lie. They got the opportunity in numbers and they went for it. Pure political opportunism.”
