MUMBAI: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Friday said that loudspeakers on mosques were not being removed by the UP government but they are only following Supreme Court (SC) orders just like the Maharashtra government. Raut also hits out at MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s Yogi, Bhogi commented.
Raut said Raj’s change of heart is the subject of research and said that if a student wants to do a PhD on this, it will be a very interesting topic.
Shiv Sena also slammed PM Modi in its mouthpiece Saamna. Shiv Sena has said that the issue of hike in petrol and diesel prices raised by PM Modi in the Covid meeting with chief ministers was like passing his responsibility to others. The Sena said that the central government has failed at all levels.
“Loudspeakers have not been removed in UP. The UP government is only following the SC direction which is also the view of the Maharashtra government. The Maharashtra government always follows the orders of the courts. The issue of loudspeakers is an attempt to heat up the political atmosphere. Who is Yogi and who is bhogi? How did this change of heart happen suddenly…this is a subject of research. If any student wants to do a PhD on this, then it should be done and this is a very interesting topic,” Raut said.
“The Maharashtra home minister had a meeting with the leaders of all the opposition parties in the state on the issue of loudspeakers. But the BJP, the largest opposition party in the state, had boycotted the meeting. That means you want to do politics. You want to spread unrest in the state over the loudspeakers issue. This is to create confusion among the people. Also, we had said that a policy needs to be implemented in the country at the national level that will apply to the entire country. This policy will apply to the whole country. The decision of the Yogi government is also very important and on the same lines,” Raut said.
The Sena said that the purpose of the Covid meeting was nothing but to taunt CM of opposition ruled states. “Petrol and diesel prices are in the hundreds. When petrol became Rs 70 per liter during the Congress rule, BJP had taken to the streets to protest against inflation.”
