No injuries have been reported so far.
The fire was reported at plot No-128 of Bajaj HealthcareLimited in Tarapur MIDC.
The Boisar-MIDC fire brigade vehicles reached the spot but the movement of the vehicles was made difficult due to several illegal constructions around.
A fire was reported at the same unit on February 13 when two workers sustained burn injuries.
One of them, Nilesh Borse (29) had sustained 90 per cent burns.
In March, the factory had been issued closure notice by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) for alleged violation of the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, Air (Prevention and Control Pollution), Act.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), Vasai, officials will visit the factory and will submit its report.
