MUMBAI: The Charkop police in Mumbai has added charges of rape in connection with the case where four people have been booked for forcing a starlet into shooting a pornographic film and later uploading it online.
So far police have arrested one Anirudh Jangad in the case. His co-accused is a female model who had been arrested about a year and half ago for her involvement in a high profile porn racket.
Police said the accused had announced they were shooting for a web series and were screening biodatas of aspiring female actors. They finally selected a 29-year-old woman who has done commercials for clothes and other brands. The woman was told that she would have to shoot bold scenes at which she refused. The accused then convinced her that the web series would be released only internationally and not in India.
In October, the woman was summoned to a Charkop apartment where she was asked to pose in the nude for the shoot. When she refused, the accused threatened her that she would have to pay up damages upto Rs 15 lakh for impacting the shoot. The woman agreed to shoot out of fear. The film was later uploaded online and the woman was alerted about it by an acquaintance last month.
“We registered a case last week and are looking for the remaining three accused,” a police officer said.
