THANE: Central Railway commuters in Mumbai are likely to face inconvenience as suburban train services will be affected, starting Sunday morning, due to a mega block scheduled on the network for carrying out engineering and maintenance works.
A block between Thane and Kalyan on both Up and Down slow lines has been scheduled from 11am to 4pm following which all down slow/semi-fast services leaving Mulund from 10.43am to 3.46pm will be diverted on fast line between Mulund and Kalyan, halting at Thane, Diva and Dombivli.
Up slow/ semi-fast services leaving Kalyan from 10.37am to 3.41pm will be diverted on the fast line between Kalyan and Mulund, halting at Dombivli, Diva and Thane, and further be re-diverted on the slow line at Mulund.
All Up and Down slow services leaving and arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 11am to 5pm are likely to run behind schedule, said officials.
The Harbour line will see mega block between Panvel and Vashi on both Up and Down lines from 11.05am to 4.05pm due to which Up services towards CSMT leaving Panvel from 10.49am to 4.01pm and down services to Panvel/Belapur leaving CSMT from 10.03am to 3.16pm will remain suspended. Special trains will run on CSMT – Vashi section during the block period.
On the Trans-harbour line, Up direction services towards Thane leaving Panvel from 9.01am to 3.53pm and Down services towards Panvel leaving Thane from 10.01am to 3.20pm will remain suspended. Trans-harbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations during the block period.
Down line services for Kharkopar leaving Nerul from 10.15am to 2.45pm and Up line services for Nerul leaving Kharkopar from 10.45am to 3.15pm will also remain cancelled. However, services between Belapur and Kharkopar will run as per schedule during the block period.
