MUMBAI: Due to nullah repair work between Malad and NL High School on SV Road by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), motorists are likely to be impacted for three months.
A senior BEST official said that the bus services on at least five routes have been affected and the administration issued a directive to carry out diversions on routes. This will inconvenience scores of commuters who will have to take detours.
Due to demolition and reconstruction of Ramchandra Nullah on Malad SV Road near Bata shoes junction, the Mumbai Traffic Police has temporarily closed the north-bound arm from Mamletdar Wadi to Marve Road junction for all vehicles Wednesday onwards.
“Diversions have been given, police said. Motorists can take a left from Mamletdar Wadi towards Liberty Garden, then right from Deepak restaurant, move ahead by BJ Patel Road, then take a right and a left towards Marve Road to connect SV Road and Link Road consecutively towards Kandivali and Borivali,” said Narendra Shinde, senior inspector, Malad traffic chowky.
A senior BEST official said, “We diverted our buses on route numbers 202, 203, 205, 290 and 460. We regret the inconvenience to our commuters as the civic work is likely to continue for three months.”
