This happened during cabinet minister Eknath Shinde’s visit for the inauguration of Vadavali rail overbridged (ROB) near Kalyan.
The programme was organised by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), in which 50 people were invited, including chief guest Shinde and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) local MP Kapil Patil.

But learning about minister Shinde’s visit, who is also guardian minister of Thane, over 200 Shiv Sena and BJP supporters had gathered at the event.

The violation took place before the police who tried to stop many supporters but in vain.
Meanwhile, after news spread about the huge crowd at the minister’s programme organised by KDMC, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Raju Patil targeted KDMC and Thane guardian minister Eknath Shinde in his tweet.
Patil told TOI, “On the one hand, KDMC imposes restriction, while and on the other, organises programmes invitig the minister. By doing this what message do the KDMC as well as the guardian minister want to send?”
