D N Nagar police registered a case of extortion against four persons, including a woman, for allegedly trying to extort Rs2. 5 crore from a city doctor. The woman and the three others planned to extort money from the doctor after her husband died in 2017, while under his treatment. No arrest has been made yet in the case. Police said the doctor finally filed a complaint after the accused had been threatening him since 2018. The doctor complained that in 2017, a patient, with bruises on his right arm, had complained of neck pain at the trauma care centre. On the basis of the MRI report, the doctor had advised him surgery. In 2018, underwent an operation but he was later put on a ventilator. He later died due to a brain stroke.
