THANE: The twin cities of Kalyan and Dombivli in Maharashtra’s Thane district saw a drop in new Covid-19 cases on Thursday as compared to the previous day.
In the past 24 hours, the cities reported 76 fresh cases of coronavirus, according to the latest data by Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). On Wednesday, 96 persons had tested positive.
Most of the cases came up in Dombivli east (33), followed by 28 in Kalyan west, eight in Dombivli west and five in Kalyan east.
Two persons tested positive in Manda-Titwala region, while no new case was reported in the Mohane region.
Also, two more fatalities were recorded in the KDMC limits.
On the other hand, 61 persons recovered from the infection on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,39,300.
At present, 744 patients are undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in Kalyan and Dombivli combined.
