MUMBAI: A large fire erupted around 4pm on Wednesday in a vehicle spare parts market located in Kurla on Kutub Mandi road. Motorists said that the flames of the fire were visible several metres away as well. The black smoke from the fire had surrounded the entire area.
Officials from the civic disaster management agency said that eight fire engines, four water tankers and an ambulance have been rushed to the site.
Social media had tweets explaining the gravity of the blaze. “Major fire breakout next to Kapadia nagar in Kurla. Only seems to be getting worse. Need traffic movement managed asap because the roads are not wide enough. @mybmc,” read a Tweet from the handle @pereiradarryl.
