
KALYAN: Three people, including a child and two women, were injured in a gas cylinder blast after a leakage in a flat at Gaikwad wadi area in Dombivli west.
The explosion was so huge that three flats around it were also damaged.
The incident took place on Tuesday at 7.45pm in a ground floor flat in Parasnath building. The flat belongs to Manisha Morvekar (60) .
The fire brigade official said, “Explosion was so huge that two windows of the house broke and damaged some portion of three houses. Two people – Urshila Lodhiya (40) and her son Riyansh (5) – who were climbing the staircase of building were also injured.”
The fire brigade team and police who rushed to the spot. The injured have been taken to hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
The police said that Manisha has suffered over 30% burn injuries while Urshila is also suffered 15% burn injuries while Riyansh have suffered fracture on his leg.
Namdev Choudhary, chief fire officer of KDMC said, “Prima facie, it reveals leakage in gas cylinder which led to an explosion in which three has got injured.”
