MUMBAI: On Saturday, Mumbai crossed the 7.20 lakh milestone for Covid-19 recoveries.
With 495 discharges in the day, the total number of persons to have recovered from the infection ever since the pandemic began in March 2020 has climbed to 7,20,487.
The city now has a steady recovery rate of 97 per cent.
Also, 405 persons tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday, taking the caseload to 7,43,819.
Six more persons succumbed to the virus, and with that, the death toll surged to 16,122.
Mumbai is now left with 4,713 active cases.
The overall growth rate of Covid-19 cases from September 25 to October 1 is 0.06 per cent, while the doubling rate is 1,169 days.
The number of sealed buildings in the BMC limits has come down to 44, whereas there are no active containment zones (slums and chawls) in the city.
