The number of active COVID-19 patients in Mumbai city on Wednesday once again crossed the 10,000 mark with the addition of new cased. The city has reported 1,121 new coronavirus-positive cases, the highest in the last two days, while six persons succumbed to the infection. Mumbai’s cumulative case tally now stands at 3,28,740, while the death toll increased to 11,482.Mumbai had reported less than 1,000 cases in the last two days in a row. On Tuesday, the city reported only two fatalities, the lowest count in a single day since April 2020. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have tightened the noose around the violators of COVID-19 guidelines. Chief Minister Uddhav said that his first priority is to ensure people’s safety amid the coronavirus pandemic.
